Participation arrangements under section 24 of the Education Act 1999 enable students to be provided educational programs from SIDE as a service provider to the school. Schools will be invoiced for each student who is enrolled.
In RM Billing it is possible to associate all timetabled subjects with their respective costs. Creating a separate Billing Code for SIDE subjects allows users to easily reconcile amounts received for SIDE course charges. Schools should pay SIDE using Intra Department Payments from the D8950 account code range or by sending a single cheque.
A ‘local school’ is defined as the school within reasonable daily travelling distance from the home of a student and at which the student would normally attend unless an alternative has been sought. SIDE is able to be a service provider for a complete or shared program. Remote Community Schools will be invoiced for each student who is enrolled. Parents of students based in Primary Schools will receive an invoice.
For 2010, the government school sector charge is:

$14 per learning area per term/semester per student
